This year we’re thrilled to celebrate Women in Construction Week by showcasing the talented women who make up our organization and industry. Meet Avery Wade, Marketing and Business Development Associate at RJM Construction!

Years in the industry?

What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?

One project that I have loved so far is my most current and ongoing project – the redesign of our resumes, project profiles, and proposals. Working in Adobe InDesign, I’ve enjoyed the creative process, experimenting with layouts, graphics, and fonts to enhance the representation of RJM’s talented individuals and impressive projects.

How did you get started in the construction industry?

I tagged along with my dad to his job at RJM Construction during summers & on school breaks throughout high school and college! I fell in love with pointing out the buildings RJM built as we drove by. Luckily, RJM had a marketing position posted that I applied to and received after graduation!

Why is it important to celebrate women in construction?

Everyone loves to be valued! Women make up such a small percentage of the construction industry; it is so important to make sure they feel valued, and it is essential we remember the challenges women battle in the industry.

How are you celebrating WIC week?

I am celebrating WIC Week with the women of RJM and getting a tour of Duffey!
