Years in the industry?

26

What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?

It’s hard to narrow down just one project. I have had the pleasure of working with a lot of amazing people throughout my career who have helped me grow as a project manager. In 2017, I completed a hotel renovation project in Minneapolis. What made this project stand out is that it had very aggressive timeline to be occupiable in time for the Super Bowl that was hosted by US Bank Stadium in February of 2018. Recently, I have worked on a few school projects that were fun because of the excitement and passion that the school staff has to make these buildings a great learning environment for the students. Their excitement was contagious, and everyone took pride in the final product.

How did you get started in the construction industry?

I started as an assistant project manager. My employer encouraged me to continue my education in construction management, which I did while working as an assistant. I have had some great mentors along the way that taught and challenged me.

Why is it important to celebrate women in construction?

I think it’s important to celebrate women in construction to encourage women and men to pursue any type of career they want. Everyone needs to work hard and earn their own way but should not be held back by their gender.
