This year we’re thrilled to celebrate Women in Construction Week by showcasing the talented women who make up our organization and industry. Meet Heather Hoffman, President/Owner of Commercial Drywall Inc.!

Years in the industry?

31

What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?

In this moment, we are in the home stretch of Commercial Drywall’s work at White Bear Lake High School. It is a large addition and remodel. It has been really fun working long-term with the KA team on site there. We’ve watched our own team grow from the challenges and I’m very proud of it.

How did you get started in the construction industry?

I had family connections to the industry, and I love the people that do this work. Ultimately, when I’m with my team, I feel at home. I just think it takes a certain kind of honest, hardworking, tenacity; to be good at this work, and it makes for some really fun people.

Why is it important to celebrate women in construction?

We’ve come a very long way in 30 years. The environment has changed so much since I started, and it’s the recognition of the contributions women have made that has done that. Keep on going! We still need more women contributing in all aspects to meet the demands of the future!
