Years in the industry?

What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?

I loved being a part of the University of Minnesota Health Science Education Center project (completed 2020). Knowing that we were all a part of building something so much bigger than ourselves was incredibly rewarding. It was never ‘just a building’ but rather where future doctors and nurses would learn to be the best possible health care professionals that they can be! There were so many females in the trades that were a part of that project too, their knowledge and skills inspired me every day to bring my own best version of myself to work.

How did you get started in the construction industry?

I found my love for the built environment by accident when I took a job answering phones for a commercial heating and cooling contractor. The more immersed I became in new roles in the field, the more I developed a passion for construction and all of the details that went into every building!

How are you celebrating Women in Construction Week?

I plan to celebrate the week by advocating for more young women to consider the construction industry as a career path when they graduate high school. Helping more young women to understand that there is a place for their unique skills and interests in construction would help the industry as a whole.
