Years in the industry?

What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?

The beautiful thing about working in marketing for a construction company, I get to be involved with every project in some way, shape or form. In my role, I get to experience the full life cycle of a project—from initial opportunity, pursuit to award, construction to occupancy. It always amazes me every time I step foot on a jobsite to see the progress the team has made—converting dirt into a beautiful new establishment for the community. There is always a great sense of pride driving by previous projects knowing we helped build them.

How did you get started in the construction industry?

Construction was never on my radar initially, especially coming from a family of educators. However, in college I stumbled upon an intriguing job description and thought I’d apply. Ten years later, I’ve learned to love this field and I enjoy the challenge of continually learning.

How are you celebrating Women in Construction Week?

For us, it’s not just a week-long celebration; we recognize women in construction all year. However, to bring extra attention to this week we have planned an event each day. Events consist of showcasing a woman shining in her role, such as one of our Field Engineers giving a tour of her jobsite.
