2025 Scholarship Application – Tech/Trade School Program

We are thrilled to offer four (4) scholarships in the amount of $1,250 each through the generous donations of our members. We are proud to support students in pursuing their educational goals in the construction industry. 

    Eligibility

    • Must be a full-time student
    • Must be attending a trade/tech school or a senior in high school that has been accepted into a program beginning this fall
    • Must be pursuing a construction-related craft or trade (ex: plumbing, HVAC, land surveying, welding, masonry, carpentry, electrical, mechanics, etc.)

     

    Guidelines & Information

    • The application deadline is June 5, 2025.
    • Scholarship winners will be notified in July 2025. Funds will be sent to the schools in August to be applied to the Fall 2025 semester.
    • Being a member of MCA is not required, but is strongly encouraged and is a determining factor in scholarship selection. Join for FREE here!

    Please write a personal statement describing why you should be considered for an MCA scholarship. When writing, consider these questions: How has construction made a difference in your life? How have you helped enhance your understanding of construction? What does Minnesota offer you as you pursue your career? Are there any challenges or obstacles you have overcome to pursue your degree?
    Please provide a brief summary of your future goals and/or plans within the construction industry.
    Please list your extracurricular activities and leadership experience along with years of participation and offices held. Consider: student organizations (clubs, sports, etc.); volunteerism (United Way, Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, etc.); other (scholarships, academic accomplishments, honors, awards, etc.).
    Please describe why this student should be awarded an MCA scholarship. Consider: communication skills (interpersonal, public speaking, writing, and listening skills); leadership qualities (ability to motivate others, innovativeness, decision-making, flexibility); responsibility (dependability, role modeling, consistency); personal traits (honesty, appreciation of diversity, patience, compassion, level of commitment, etc.).
