What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?
When I was at Minnesota Blueprint (AKA MnBlue Digital) we printed the plans for the Federal Reserve Bank which was a huge job! This was when we printed actual blueprint and the amount of paper for the plans and specs was astronomical. We had pallets and pallets of plan sets.
How did you get started in the construction industry?
I started when I was 22 years old in customer service at Minnesota Blueprint. I had experience in sales and customer service but no experience in the industry. This was before CAD so all design was hand-drafted and I had to learn about all the supplies needed for that which was overwhelming.
How are you celebrating Women in Construction Week?
I will be cheering on the many other women that have also joined the industry and I have seen that number grow immensely throughout the years I have been around. It is such a pleasure to work with them all! There are now many other women doing what I am doing but I am proud that I was the first!
