This year we’re thrilled to celebrate Women in Construction Week by showcasing the talented women who make up our organization and industry. Meet Halley Gustafson, Marketing Coordinator at Veit & Company, Inc.!

Years in the industry?

What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?

I have worked on numerous projects throughout my career, but if I had to pick one, I would say that I enjoyed working on the new construction of Costco stores the most when I was working as a plumber in the field. As a part of building several new stores, I became very familiar with the layout and construction schedule of the building. It was nice to have the knowledge and confidence to know what needed to be done when I was on that job site. Now that I work in an office-based role, I don’t get to work in the field every day. But, whenever I have the opportunity to visit a job site, I take full advantage of it. I capture content to showcase the amazing work our field crews do, and I also learn more about the industry and projects we are working on.

How did you get started in the construction industry?

I have been around construction my whole life as my dad and grandpa were both plumbers. In 2015 I worked as a summer helper for my dad’s plumbing shop before joining the local union as an apprentice. Later I pursued a marketing degree and joined Veit in 2023 as a member of the marketing team!

How are you celebrating WIC Week?

At Veit, we are proud of our exceptional team of women, and we will be highlighting their achievements on our social media channels and sponsoring WIC Week events!
